What to Expect
Free consultation call
Before scheduling an appointment with a prospective client, I like to have a consultation call first. This 15-20 minute phone call allows me to hear a little bit about you and what’s bringing you to seek out therapy. Then I’ll share my approach and answer any questions you have. This helps us both to get a better sense of if we’re a good fit. If we both feel comfortable moving forward, we’ll look at our schedules and hopefully find a time to schedule your first session.
Paperwork and Intake Session(s)
Before our first session, you'll receive paperwork via my secure client portal, SimplePractice. The completed paperwork and first few sessions of therapy lay the groundwork of your therapeutic journey. The information gathered helps me begin to understand your story and assess what needs our attention and where we should dive deeper in therapy.
Ongoing therapy
Therapy is a unique journey tailored to each individual. Sessions typically last 55 minutes, but the frequency and duration of therapy will depend on your specific needs and circumstances. Generally, starting with weekly sessions is recommended to establish a strong therapeutic relationship and facilitate meaningful progress. As we work together and you begin to see positive changes, we can discuss adjusting the frequency of sessions or continuing weekly until your goals are achieved and you feel ready to conclude therapy.
